Eco What?

The term “eco travel” has been getting thrown around quiet a bit, but some people don’t know what it means. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.

Eco travel, also known as sustainable travel or responsible travel, is a type of travel that aims to minimize the negative impact on the environment and local communities while providing a positive experience for travelers. It involves making conscious decisions about where to go, how to get there, where to stay, and what activities to engage in. It’s all about honoring and respecting the environment and being aware of the impact tourism can have on it.

Eco travel emphasizes the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, and the promotion of environmental and social sustainability. This can be achieved through various practices, such as supporting locally-owned businesses, reducing waste and carbon footprint, respecting wildlife and their habitats, and engaging in responsible tourism activities that benefit the local communities.

Is it Popular?

Concerns with the welfare of the Earth have helped to create this travel style. Eco travel is gaining popularity as travelers become more aware of their impact on the environment and local communities, and seek to make a positive difference through their travel choices. Caring about our planet doesn’t mean you can’t travel! There are plenty of eco-friendly destinations and tours available.
